Continuing privately
You can continue with private prescribing and review. This means an ongoing cost for appointments, prescriptions and the medication itself.
Asking why
It is reasonable to ask the practice for the reason. Sometimes it is a blanket policy; sometimes it relates to the specific medication or to monitoring capacity, and sometimes that can be worked with.
Reviewing the plan
If continuing privately is not sustainable, say so. A clinician would rather review the plan with you than have you stop medication abruptly without telling anyone.
