ADHD Treatment and Medication Support

What happens after an ADHD diagnosis if medication is being considered — treatment consultation, starting medication where appropriate, titration, monitoring and ongoing review.

This service is not available for direct public booking

ADHD treatment and medication appointments cannot be booked or purchased directly from this website. They are arranged by PRC only after your pathway has been confirmed, so that treatment is considered only where it is clinically appropriate.

Before you read on

An assessment does not guarantee a diagnosis. Medication is offered only where clinically appropriate. GP shared-care acceptance cannot be guaranteed. Clients may need to continue paying privately for prescriptions, reviews and monitoring.

Who this is for

People who have an ADHD diagnosis and for whom treatment is being considered as a next step. Eligibility for treatment is a clinical decision. A diagnosis does not automatically mean medication will be offered, and treatment is not accepted automatically where the diagnosis was made elsewhere.

What the treatment pathway involves

GP shared care and its limitations

Where it is appropriate, PRC can write to your GP proposing a shared-care arrangement, under which the GP takes over prescribing. Whether to accept is entirely a decision for your GP practice, and many practices decline. PRC cannot guarantee acceptance. If shared care is not accepted, you may need to continue paying privately for prescriptions, reviews and monitoring for as long as you remain on medication.

Costs to be aware of

£180 to £300 per appointment

Treatment and medication support is charged per appointment rather than as a single package, because the number of appointments depends on how you respond.

AppointmentPrice
Initial ADHD treatment consultation£300
ADHD medication initiation£250
ADHD titration or medication review£220
Routine ADHD medication follow-up£180
Annual ADHD medication review£250

The medication itself is not included. Private prescription charges and pharmacy charges are paid separately and continue for as long as you remain on medication. A private prescription outside a scheduled consultation is £35.

Full fees and cancellation terms are on the Prices page.
