Adult Psychiatric Assessment
A structured online psychiatric assessment for adults in England, leading to a clinical opinion, an explanation of what is happening, and a discussion of what would help.
Before you book, please read this
An assessment does not guarantee a diagnosis. Medication is offered only where clinically appropriate. GP shared-care acceptance cannot be guaranteed. Clients may need to continue paying privately for prescriptions, reviews and monitoring.
Who this assessment is for
Adults living in England who want a psychiatric opinion about difficulties affecting their mental health, daily functioning, work or relationships, and who want to understand what support would help.
What the assessment includes
- A structured appointment with a psychiatrist, online or in person at our Northampton office.
- A review of your current difficulties and relevant history.
- Discussion of physical health, medication and previous care where relevant.
- A clinical opinion and an explanation of what it means.
- A written summary of the assessment and recommendations.
- A discussion of next steps, whether or not a diagnosis is made.
Treatment is a separate stage
Assessment and treatment are not the same appointment. If treatment is recommended, any medication pathway is arranged separately after the assessment, and prescriptions, reviews and monitoring continue to be chargeable.
Price
An initial psychiatric assessment is £350. The fee covers the appointment with a psychiatrist, the clinical opinion, and a written summary with recommendations.
Payment is normally due before or at the time of booking. Any medication, private prescription and pharmacy charges are separate. If you go on to have follow-up appointments, a psychiatric follow-up is £220 and a medication review is £200.
Full fees and cancellation terms are on the Prices page.
