Therapy and Mental Health Support

DBT-Informed Therapy

Online therapy drawing on dialectical behaviour therapy principles, focused on managing intense emotions, tolerating distress and building steadier relationships.

This is DBT-informed therapy, not a full DBT programme

PRC offers individual therapy that draws on DBT principles and skills. This is not a full, standard DBT programme, which additionally involves group skills training and between-session telephone coaching. If you need a full DBT programme, PRC will say so and explain where to look.

Who this is for

Adults and young people in England who experience emotions that feel overwhelming or hard to manage, difficulty tolerating distress, or repeated difficulties in relationships. Whether this approach suits you depends on your needs and on professional assessment.

What sessions involve

Suitability, limitations and crisis support

Therapy does not guarantee improvement or a particular outcome, and it is not a cure. Therapy is not a crisis service and does not provide urgent or out-of-hours support. If you are experiencing frequent crises or are at risk, PRC will discuss whether this is the right service for you and what else may be needed.

Sessions, duration and your therapist

Sessions are 50 minutes, usually weekly or fortnightly. The pattern is agreed with you — some people prefer to space sessions further apart, and PRC can work that way where it is clinically appropriate.

There is no minimum number of sessions you have to commit to. Progress is reviewed with you as you go. Booking a block costs less if you want to: six sessions are £570 and ten are £900.

Price
