Psychiatric Services
Online psychiatric assessment, review and medication support for adults, children and young people in England. Psychiatric care is arranged in separate stages, and treatment is never provided without an assessment first.
Before you book, please read this
An assessment does not guarantee a diagnosis. Medication is offered only where clinically appropriate. GP shared-care acceptance cannot be guaranteed. Clients may need to continue paying privately for prescriptions, reviews and monitoring.
What we offer
Adult Psychiatric Assessment
A structured online psychiatric assessment for adults, leading to a clinical opinion and a discussion of what would help.
Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Assessment
An online psychiatric assessment for children and young people, arranged with a parent or guardian and involving those who know the child well.
Medication and Prescribing
Where medication is clinically appropriate, prescribing is arranged as a separate stage after assessment. It is not available for direct public booking.
Follow-Up and Medication Reviews
Shorter review appointments for existing PRC clients, to check how treatment is working and agree what happens next.
Who these services are for
Adults, children and young people living in England who are seeking a psychiatric opinion, or who are already under PRC’s care and need a review. Appointments are available online across England, or in person at our Northampton office.
How booking works
Psychiatric assessments and medication appointments are not booked directly from this website. They are arranged with you after a suitability discussion, so that the right appointment type and the right clinician are matched to your needs.
- Start with a free 15-minute suitability and information call.
- We confirm which appointment type is appropriate for you.
- Assessment and medication appointments are then arranged directly with you.
- Follow-up reviews are available to existing PRC clients.
Assessment and treatment are separate stages
An assessment and any treatment that follows are not the same appointment. An assessment establishes whether a condition is present and what would help. If medication is clinically appropriate, prescribing, review and monitoring are arranged separately, and continue to be chargeable.
Price
An initial psychiatric assessment is £350, for adults and for children and young people alike. Follow-up appointments are charged separately: a psychiatric follow-up is £220 and a medication review is £200.
Payment is normally due before or at the time of booking. Any medication, private prescription and pharmacy charges are separate from PRC’s fees.
Full fees and cancellation terms are on the Prices page.
